Communicating Vessels

With the pressure of finals on the horizon, Montevallo students don’t hesitate to make their way to Eclipse for a night of grooving with Birmingham based hip-hop duo Shaheed & DJ Supreme. Seasoned to the crowd and fluid with the rhythm and rhyme. The duo shakes up the audience with the masterfully mixed grooves supplied by DJ Supreme and the impeccable rhyme scheme voiced by Shaheed Tawheed.

Methodical with their ways and sharp on the tongue, communicating vessels they are indeed. Spreading knowledge and light through music and sound. 

Hip-Hop in Montevallo is a rarity, but when it makes it's way onto the scene, it certainly leaves an impact. Shaheed & DJ Supreme have left there mark on cities across the nation, Montevallo being one of many.

Music isn't a distraction…it is a way to channel one's daily struggles, alter their mindset, and even  provoke inspiration within that individual. Seeing someone on their platform spreading knowledge, truth, and understanding reminds us that everyone has a soapbox.

On our personal soapbox we can utilize any talents or skills to raise the pillar higher. Through the growth comes knowledge, and through this knowledge comes wisdom.
