The Christmas Cheer is Early This Year
Story by: Sydney Fields
As the season is changing, the leaves are changing colors and falling to the ground. People are putting up their Halloween costumes to break out their Winter-wear. Which also means that it's time to play Christmas music.
At least some people think so. Magic 96.5 started to play Christmas music before Halloween even passed. Some listeners are upset and posted on the station's Facebook comments such as "Please stop the Christmas music! It's tooooo early!"
Taryn putting her bow on the Christmas Tree
Not everyone is upset with the early Christmas cheer. Junior Taryn Woodgett has already gotten into the spirit by listening to Christmas music as well as decorating her dorm room.
"I enjoy Christmas music, It's probably my favorite." She says that putting up her Christmas tree in her dorm gets her excited for the holiday and gives her something to look forward to.
Taryn's Christmas Tree
Taryn's friend, Kellie Rogers helps her decorate her room, but she isn't quite ready to join in on the early celebration just yet. "I love Christmas, just not too early," said Kellie. "If they play it too early, I think it takes away from Thanksgiving. And I don't think we put as much emphasis on Thanksgiving as we need to."
Ready or not, the Christmas cheer is coming. It's your choice to embrace it or to wait a little longer.
