Art Walk in Orr Park

By: Hannah Rish

Art can come in a variety of forms.  Every size, shape and style can be used to an artist's disposal.  And that's exactly what happened at the annual Art Fest in Orr Park on April 11th.  Over 50 artists were featured, each with a certain flair to their wares.
A sample of the art that was featured.
Artist Lori Rhodes is one such artist, as she sells vintage jewelry made of freshwater pearls, crystal and glass.

Another stand-out artist was Chelsea Carver, whose art set 'The Toy Series' portrayed precious childhood games like marbles and jacks.  Carver said about her work: "It's all about going back to your roots, because when you become a grown-up, you kind of forget about the magical fun things that you do when you're a kid.  It's all stressful, so I like to keep a little bit of that magic along with me."

Many other activities were also featured at the Fest, including a set of live music, crafts for families and kids, raffles, and many tasty treats.  Of course, the option of splashing around in the river was also an option.
